Glimpse snapshots of history in the making when the California African American Museum presents a new photo exhibit “Los Angeles Freedom Rally, 1963.” The historic gathering at LA’s first baseball stadium known as Wrigley Field featured Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., as he addressed a crowd of nearly 40,000 people in a prelude to his monumental 1963 March on Washington.

See what’s new at one of the world’s most extensive collections of Ice Age fossils when the La Brea Tar Pits unearths a new traveling exhibit “Mammoths and Mastodons.” Based on a traveling exhibit organized by Chicago’s Field Museum, the exhibit includes life-sized models, hands-on interactives, and the latest discoveries and research relating to these extraordinary early animals found both at the Tar Pits and other sites from around the world.
